Privacy Policy

Horse Boarding USA ("we," "us") publishes a directory of horse boarding stables. This policy explains what information we collect from visitors and barn owners, and how we use it.

Information we collect

When you submit a barn listing, a review, a claim, or the contact form, we collect the information you provide: name, email, barn name, and location.

Analytics

We track aggregate site usage: which pages are viewed, the referring site's domain, a general device type (mobile, tablet, desktop), and a country (our network provider resolves this from your connection; we never see or store your IP address itself), plus a handful of key actions (e.g. submitting the contact form, starting a Premium checkout). This is not tied to you personally: no cookies, no IP address stored, no cross-site tracking, and no way to link this data back to an individual visitor or account.

Accounts and sign-in

Writing a review, claiming a listing, or adding a new barn requires an account. We use passwordless (magic-link) sign-in through our authentication provider, Supabase: you enter your email, we send you a one-time link, and a session cookie keeps you signed in on that browser. We store your email address and account ID, and link it to the reviews, claims, and listings you submit, so we can attribute them to you and let you manage them. We never see or store a password.

Reviews and claims

Reviews are attributed to your account and are moderated before appearing publicly. If you claim a listing as its owner, we review the claim before approving it. Approved claims let you activate a paid Premium plan for that listing.

Payments

Premium plan payments are processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card details; Stripe handles checkout directly. We keep a record of your subscription status (plan, active/cancelled, renewal date) so we can show the correct plan on your listing. See Stripe's privacy policy for how they handle payment data.

How we use it

We use submitted information to publish, verify and update listings, to respond to inquiries, and to operate accounts, reviews, claims and Premium subscriptions. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Listing data

Business information shown on stable listing pages (name, address, phone, ratings) is compiled from public sources. If you are a barn owner and want a listing corrected or removed, contact us at [email protected].

Affiliate disclosure

Some product links on this site (for example, in "Shop on Amazon" boxes) are Amazon Associates affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you. These links do not influence stable listings, ratings, or sentiment labels.

Photos

Photos you upload to a listing you manage are stored with our storage provider, Supabase, and served publicly alongside that listing. You can remove a photo you uploaded at any time from your listing's editor; removing it deletes the stored file.

Cookies

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in after you use a magic link (set by Supabase Auth). It's required for accounts, reviews, claims and Premium to work, and isn't used for advertising or tracking across other sites. We don't use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Who we share information with

We don't sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that run the site on our behalf:Supabase(database, authentication, photo storage) and Stripe(Premium subscription payments), plus our web host, to the extent needed to run the site. Each handles data under its own privacy policy, linked above.

Your rights and choices

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you (your account email, reviews, claims, and any listing you submitted) by emailing us at the address below. We'll respond and act on verifiable requests within a reasonable time. Deleting your account removes your ability to manage listings you've claimed; content already published (like a moderated review) may be anonymized rather than removed if it's already public and other users can see it.

Data retention

We keep account, review, claim and listing data for as long as your account is active or as needed to operate the directory, and for a reasonable period after to comply with legal, tax and dispute-resolution obligations.
